Day 1: 9 a.m. departure at Chiang Mai. The drive will take you in 1 hour north west of Chiang Mai to Mae Malai market. You can wander around for 30 minutes while your guide is buying more fresh food. Drive 30 minutes to Pong Duet National Park and Mork Faa Waterfall where you can swim and relax for about 1 hour. After a further drive of 1 hour you will enjoy lunch at a beautiful view point. Drive further for about 20 minutes and start walking. After trekking for about 1 hour you will reach the Pong Duet hot springs. Walk for about 1 hour to the Karen village called Pong Noi village where you will have dinner and spend your first night.

Day 2: 8:00 a.m. breakfast is served. Departure at 9 a.m. to the Karen Mae Manai village. Relax for about 30 minutes and observe traditional life style. Walk 1 hour to the Karen elephant camp Pang Maka. The elephant ride of about 1 ½ hours will bring you across the Mae Taeng river to the ethnic Lahu village Pong Ngaen village. You will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: 8:00 a.m. breakfast is served. Departure at 9 a.m. with handmade bamboo rafts. During the 2 hour journey on the raft your may observe nature with different wildlife. You will have lunch at Sopgai village. Our pickup truck will drive you back to Chiang Mai in about 2 hours.

Included: English and Karen speaking guide, transportation, insurance, lunch, fruit, lodging, elephant riding and bamboo rafting

Prices according to the amount of people in a group:

1 person: THB 10,000

2 people: THB 6,000 per person

3-4 people: THB 4,000 per person

5-6 people: THB 3,500 per person

7-8 people: THB 2,800 per person

Mae Taeng

Mae Taeng district is located north-west of Chiang Mai. The Taeng river flows into the Ping river which flows through Chiang Mai. Huay Nam Dang National Park and its hot spring Pong Duat are located in our trekking area in Mae Taeng district.
